A day out to "The Little Gym"

My friend from work has a little 7 month old boy. She's always thinking up ideas of what she could do with him during the day and telling me all about it. She just comes up with little things for them to do just to get out of the house. One night when we were working together, she told me on how she wanted to take him to "The Little Gym" to give it a try. I asked her what it was about and she showed me a website that talks about it. The first class is free just to try it out, but after that you have to register for classes.

They have different classes called Bugs, Birds, Bees, etc. The bugs class is age 3-10 months, and Birds age 10-19 months. She asked if I wanted to tag along and I was all over it. It sounded like fun. So these are just a few of the pictures I took from the hour long class. I went to her with the Bugs class. It was fun, but after going, I've decided that if Braxton was to go again, he definitely needed to be in the older class with the Birds. My lil man was crawling all over those little bugs haha. It was still fun and I'm glad we went. Don't know if I'll register him in weekly classes or not, gotta look into our budget first but it was still a fun way to get out of the house. Thanx for inviting me along Katie! :)

Those chairs are where the parents sit to watch for when the older kids are in there classes.
Ages 3 months to 3 years is when the parents go in and tag along.

We sat around in a circle singing songs and doing little tumbles with our babies. Braxton had a hard time just sitting there, but was a good sport. I kept him occupied when it wasn't our turn with the bells that were given to us.

 Hula hoops!

Time to explore! That's my friend Katie and her little boy in the picture below.

Time to do the balance beam. We were suppose to help them walk across it. Was interesting haha.

 Balls!

All tired and worn out! :) What a fun day!

Gone swimming!

We went swimming! My best friend Tessa from high school lives in Orem and asked if I wanted to go swimming with her in an indoor swimming pool in Lehi. I was thrilled to hear that there was an indoor swimming pool. I've been wanting to take Braxton swimming again, just didn't know of any places to go to. So here are the few pictures I took, I of course would have taken more if my phone would have been waterproof, so lucky for all you it wasn't, haha. I usually take too many pictures anyway. Enjoy!

A water-slide in the kiddy pool.
There was a lot of fun water attractions there, nothing huge and fancy, but I would think anything is exciting when comparing to what I grew up with back in my hometown.

 Tessa and her kiddo

Our turn to try the water slide.
Braxton wasn't so sure about it and didn't act like he liked it at first but he never cried,

This was a neat little swing set type thing in the water.
Braxton wasn't so sure about that either but tolerated it.

 Posing with her other kiddo!

Braxton overall did really well, he kept wanting to move around in the water, so I'm sure when he starts walking he'd have more fun but for now he just sat in my lap and splashed around. I really liked the swing that was available for him but he just wasn't too sure about it. Braxton also kept wanting to drink the water. While sitting in my lap he kept leaning forward and putting his whole front of his face in the water trying to take gulps of the water. I have a feeling that he'll have no fear of water. He loves to drink it. At home, he would just sit there and drink all the water in his sippy cup if I'd let him. Anyhow, it was a fun day, nice to get out of the house. Thanx for inviting us along Tessa!

What's been happenin' in January!

Just thought I'd share some pictures that were taken throughout the month. No special occasions, just random pictures I take during the day. Of course they are all pictures of Braxton, but who doesn't mind that. Plus I've learned how to make my blog posts into books! So I've been making books by the year, who needs to scrap book with that magical tool!

My blog books!

Went to Wingers one Friday with Jackson for lunch, I prefer there lunch menu over there dinner menu if anyone ever wants to go there.

Looking at all the Christmas clearance, had to try out the headgear displayed!

We have a crawler on our hands! Just shortly before Christmas, Braxton has learned how to crawl, so our house is becoming baby proof now. Just pictures of Jackson putting those childproof locks on our cupboards, Braxton was a great help!

Braxton's beginning to love the dogs now that he is mobile. When there's nothing else better to do, he goes and torments the dogs. Luckily the dogs don't mind him pulling and pinching there ears. They just sit there or move if he annoys them.
Oh and to add to the joys of having dogs and a baby combined, Braxton loves dog food! No, he has never swallowed any dog food yet, but anytime he's on the floor, the first thing he does is head off to where there dog bowls are. I have had to pull it out of his mouth though and take it out of his hands. We usually put the bowls away now for that reason, especially if there is any dog food leftover. Sometimes we've left the empty bowls there thinking he wouldn't want them anymore, oh no, Braxton would go play with the empty bowl and tried sucking on the rim! Gross! No more dog bowls on the floor now. And the dogs water bowl have been moved now to the laundry room, out of sight out of mind, we hope.
With the dogs

Showing off his new outfit from Grandma Hawkins! She knows just what I like.

Got an ear infection again at the beginning of the month, so here we sit at the doctors waiting. :( He currently has one now which would be his second one this month. Will son be setting up an appointment in the near future for tubes to be put in his ears. I'm thinking this is his 6th official ear infection. :(

At the sitters house in the mornings that Jackson has to head to work before I get off work. Luckily with Jackson's new schedule that I love, he only has to go to a sitter once a week now for about 2 hours! :) Not bad at all! The socialization with other kiddos is good for him too!

Jackson is bound and determined to buy a bulldog someday as a pet. Probably won't happen until our kiddos are out of the house but he can still wish I guess. Got Braxton this outfit just for daddy! Sent daddy this picture when he was in Wyoming for work.

Thinking this will be his last picture of him in his old favorite toy the jumper. Just has no desire to be stuck in a jumper now that he is mobile. My baby is growing up too fast.

Decided to go out to eat for dinner before I start my faithful calorie counting again, we chose Wingers. Like I said earlier, prefer the lunch menu after having both.

Looking handsome at church.
Btw, we are now sunbeam teachers, don't know if that was such a good idea. The first day of class this year, the kids were looking around for toys which there were none except for Braxton's toys. Also, Braxton's a pretty big distraction for them too now that he crawls, we'll see how long this lasts, hopefully not too long at least so I've been told.

Last summer we bought the "Your Baby Can Read" program for super cheap at a facebook yard sale and Braxton loves it! He likes the movies but not as much as he loves the flash cards! When we show him the words with pictures, he gets all excited, I guess you just have to be there to see just how excited he gets. Well worth our money.

Uh-Oh!
Braxton's first poop in the tub! The worst part of this was as soon as I cleaned it up and emptied the water to get him fresh water, within 5 minutes of getting fresh clean water, he poops again. Needless to say his bath that day was really short. :)

Different bath day with some new bath toys. No poop this day!

Showing off some new outfits! The dinos on his shirt in the picture on the left glows in the dark!

Absolutely love this picture! With Jackson being gone every Wednesday night for work, Emily has been coming over to do laundry and keep me company. This picture was taken just in time to get a perfect smile from the both of them. Honestly one of my favorite pics!

Emily has never seen "Frozen", so we decided to go see it again with her now.
Love it!

These were taken this last Sunday, Braxton had a fever of 102.9 right before church. Luckily we were able to get our class in primary covered for church and took him to urgent care to get him diagnosed with the ear infection he has now. Poor guy :(

Enjoying one of his favorites, toast with jelly! Such a mess for mommy though! You'll notice all the different times he had jelly due to the different colored bibs.

Braxton has learned how to climb stairs. Not by himself yet but he does pretty good. There's always someone behind him just incase.

There's one cupboard that has no childproof lock on. It's the one stuffed with the big bowls. Braxton loves to play with these bowls. One time he put it on his head and looked up at me, had no camera to snap a picture, sad day! Our little Braxton is growing up so fast. Will be 11 months on February 1st!
