18 months!
June 9, 2016 (18 month appointment):
Weight: 23 lb. 14 oz. (stayed in the 25th-50th percentile)
Height: 2' 6" (31.3 in) (in the 10th-25th percentile)
They told me at his appointment that he had to of been measured wrong in height at his previous appointment due to the large height difference. They re-measured him like 3 times and the one on this visit is more accurate than the one at his 15 month appt.
Head Circumference: 18.81" (47.78 cm)
March 30, 2016 (15 month appointment):
Weight: 22 lb. 8 oz. (25th-50th percentile)
Height: 2' 8" (32 in) (is now in the 50th-75th percentile, almost on the line of the 75th)
Head Circumference: 18.62" (47.3 cm) (50th-75th percentile)
Immunizations this visit: Prevnar and Hepatitis A
Another good appointment for our baby. The doctor said everything looks great, even his ears. I always make sure the doctor looks in his ears just due to the fact that Braxton had so many ear infections. I guess I live in fear that Greyson will have ear infections as well. Greyson is walking now. He started walking around the end of April and is walking around really well now. He's still in physical therapy though because when he walks he does so in a slouch leaning forward position. We are pretty sure that is due to the hip brace he had to wear for 3 months. The doctor watched him walk around and seems to think he'll grow out of it. His physical therapist is showing me some new stretches to help stretch it out and has also been using kinesio tape to help straighten him out. Other than the slouch he has he walks pretty good and we are hoping he'll straighten out sooner than later.
His eating is better, infact I think he eats better than Braxton now. His favorite foods are scrambled eggs, yogurt, mac n cheese, and certain fruits. I need to start having him use cups though instead of sippy cups. That is my next goal is no sippy cups. Another goal of mine is no more pacifier. I'm afraid that will be a hard habit to break because he can get so grumpy at times and it is just so nice to throw in a binky to help calm him. The Goal is to have him binky-free by the time his new baby sister arrives. I am just grateful we are done with bottles now.
Greyson is a great sleeper. He sleeps the whole night and sometimes sleeps in till 9am. He is down to one nap a day in the afternoon and goes to bed quite easily now, don't know how easily it will be without a binky but it needs to be done. So we'll see how that goes.
He is still not talking much, in fact doesn't say any words which I know isn't normal for kids his age. Braxton was the same way though. I am hoping speech therapy will help him out along with me doing more sign language with him. He is really starting to like books so I hope me reading to him more will help also. Greyson likes to be loud but mostly by grunting loudly or screaming loudly. Hoping he'll attempt saying words sooner than later.
Greyson can be happy at times but is very stubborn and opinionated. For instance, if he's thirsty and crying I'll hand him a sippy cup because I know that's what he wants but he won't take it to prove something. But if I put it on the floor in front of him to where he can see it, than he'll pick it up himself and be just fine. It's like it has to be his idea to get the sippy cup or something. He knows what he wants and tries very hard to get what he wants. He likes playing tag with his brother and spinning in circles is how he dances when I tell him to dance. He has the cutest smile and purses his lips together when he smiles, only shows teeth on occasion. We sure do love our stubborn, but happy, baby boy!
