Just a year ago....

Exactly one year ago, to this very day, Jackson and I found out I was pregnant! We really never knew exactly how much our lives would change until little Braxton actually came into this world. We wouldn't have it any other way now. Braxton is such a good sweet little baby boy. A true blessing from our Heavenly Father! Braxton is always happy and smiling! He loves life and has a contagious smile that can't help but make us want to smile too! We love you Braxton and look forward to the years we get to spend with you!

This video isn't as good as some of the other times we got him really laughing hard, but it's better than nothing. For some reason, the moment we pull out the camera, he just stares at it and quits laughing. Still super cute!

The week of Dawson's surgery

Brandon (Jackson's brother) and his wife Kandra's little boy Dawson needed to have open heart surgery. The best place to have that surgery was here at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City. Dawson was diagnosed in March with "Partial Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Return". Which as Kandra said on facebook, "Basically the veins that come from his lungs aren't even connected to the left ventricle like it's suppose to be. Instead the veins go to a superior vein that dumps straight into the right ventricle." Which makes the right side of his heart really large because all the blood is being pumped into that one side instead of both as it's suppose to. So Dawson was scheduled to have his surgery the last week of May. Since we live here in Utah and because Jackson's parents, who live in Twin Falls, wanted to be here for Brandon and his family they asked if they could stay at our house.  So this short post is about the week of Dawson's surgery and Vern and Toni's visit.

During that week, lots happened; when Jackson's parents weren't at the hospital visiting Dawson they took us out for dinner one night, they drove me around so I could pick up some baby items that I bought through facebook yard sales, we stayed up late watching movies, we walked around the City Creek Center Mall, and of course Grandpa and Grandma Plott had fun hanging out with Braxton!

It was a great visit and better yet Dawson is doing great! He had his surgery on a Wednesday and left the hospital on Saturday! Jackson and I even got to go visit Dawson on Friday before he left the hospital. It was great to see him do so well! I truly am impressed with how short his stay was at the hospital; the Lord works in miraculous ways and I know He was with Dawson and his family that week! Here are some pictures that were taken that week!

The pictures we took of Dawson and his family at the hospital.
We love you Dawson and we are so glad that you are recovering so well from your surgery!

This is a jumper that I bought from a facebook yardsale, Braxton loves it! Jackson figured out how to make it lower, so he now sits in it without the box of dishes underneath it.

Happy Anniversary!

Three years ago on June 18, 2010, Jackson and I were married in the Logan Utah temple. It's crazy to think about the last 3 years and what has happened since than. We never thought we'd end up in Utah or be blessed with such a beautiful baby boy. To celebrate Jackson and I went to do sealings at the temple with the ward, than dinner and a movie. It was nice to do sealings that helped us remember the day we were married. The movie we saw was, "Man of steel", it was really good, we both liked it a lot. We even paid a little extra and did Dbox seats! :) It was fun and we appreciate my sister Emily for being willing to come down and babysit for us.

Love you Jackson, I can't believe it's already been 3 years!

Dbox seats! They are seats that move with the movie! :)

Exciting News!

WE HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT TO MAKE! WE GOT A PUPPY!

Roxy came to live with us! For those of you who don't remember, Roxy is Maximus's sister that lived with my friend Ashlee. Recently Ashlee asked me if we would be interested in having Roxy because Roxy has been bored and lonely lately. There other dog Abby is just getting to old to play and all Roxy wants to do is play. Ashlee and her family love Roxy dearly but they just want her to be happy and get the attention she deserves. They felt that Maximus and her would get along great and would be able to play with each other really well. So when I came back from Washington I brought Roxy home with me from Idaho. The best part of all this is, is that Jackson had no idea she was coming!

A few months ago Ashlee asked us if we would be interested in getting Roxy, so Jackson and I have previously discussed and talked about it in the past on whether we wanted Roxy or not, which we both agreed that we would take her if we could. So I already knew that Jackson would be fine with it, hence the reason I didn't tell him until Roxy and I showed up last Thursday. If only everyone could have seen Jackson's reaction! Roxy and I walked in and I said, "Happy Father's Day!" Jackson and Maximus both were so happy to see Roxy. Maximus and Roxy instantly started to play, so outside they went.

We haven't told very many people about Roxy just incase it didn't work out. Dogs, especially boxers can be very territorial and can become aggressive if you bring another dog into the house and we weren't quite sure how Max would react with Roxy around. Maximus has had his moments of jealousy over Roxy being around and not wanting to share some of his chew toys but Jackson and I kept telling Maximus "no" and stopping that habbit that way he learned that Roxy was here to stay. Which by yesterday Maximus gave up on being territorial and loves Roxy now more to death! In fact anytime Roxy is laying down sleeping, Max will go and try to lay as close to her as possible.

I was kind of hesitant at first about getting Roxy when we first discussed it a few months back just because I thought it would be more work for us. Plus Maximus is already such a hyper playful dog that I didn't really know if I wanted two of Maximus. But after Jackson and I talked about it we realized that maybe it would be good thing for Maximus to have another dog around because Maximus too would get so bored around the house and all he would want to do is play. In fact Jackson and I have already decided that when Maximus got older that the next time we got a puppy, we would get two of them just because it was sad to see Max get so bored. We would play with Max but it just never seemed to be enough.

After having Roxy here for just a few days Jackson and I are so happy to have her, as well as Maximus is too. We love Roxy! Roxy is such a good good dog, she is so sweet and so laid back. I never realized that until having Roxy constantly around the last few days. Roxy is no where near as hyper as Maximus either, she is so care free and easy going. In fact I think Maximus drove her crazy the first day because all Maximus wanted to do was play with her and be around her constantly, but luckily the novelty of having a new dog around the house has warn off for Max. Maximus still follows her around and loves to play but at least he's not driving Roxy crazy anymore. They are even cuddling up to each other now. Maximus has even mellowed out, Maximus gets too tired now from playing with Roxy to where he doesn't even try and make us play with him anymore. We still play with him but Max use to try and chew on our shoelaces or our pant legs for attention and that habbit is gone now. In fact anytime he's in the house the both of them are usually in to just sleep and relax.

We just want to thank Ashlee and Clint for letting us have Roxy, I know it was hard for them to let her go but we do love having Roxy around and we will continue to show her the same love and attention we give Maximus. We love you Roxy!

Roxy in the car wearing her pink bow ready to surprise the boys!

We bought Roxy a pink collar! Pink for some reason fits the name I think.

They are both so excited for Jackson to be home!

Jackson training the dogs!

Just wanted to show this picture of them as puppies! Aren't they so cute!

Can't believe how big they are now for only being 9 months old. Welcome to our home Roxy! You are such a great dog and we are so happy to have you with us!
