Trip to Idaho for Maximus

Two weekends ago, Maximus, Braxton, and I headed to Shelley Idaho. It was a great trip for us but not so much for Maximus. Jackson and I agreed from the beginning that we would neuter Maximus when the time arrived for us to do so. We looked into some vets around here in Utah but the cost was unbelievable, just not worth it to us. Luckily my friend Ashlee (who owns Roxy, Maximus's sister) said she knew a vet in Idaho Falls that does it for really cheap because the veterinarian strongly believes that every dog/cat should be spade or neutered because of the amount of homeless pets we have in our society now. In fact it's the same vet that Roxy went to to be spayed. So we called up the vet and made an appointment, it was a really good deal and I'm glad we went that route. It was also great to have the help from my family with Maximus during his recovery. Jackson tried to get that weekend off from work but with other employee's wanting that same weekend off he wasn't able to come with us. I was going to try and reschedule it but Jackson insisted that I go and get it done because we weren't sure when another opportunity would happen since Jackson's work schedule is posted on a weekly basis and we would have to schedule in advanced with the vet.

So we left on a Thursday morning because Maximus was scheduled for a Friday appointment. We were told not to feed him any food after 6PM or drink any water after Midnight the day before the surgery and I wanted to get to my parents house before 6PM to try and get Max fed. We also left early that morning to give us more time to stop and visit Jackson's brother Brandon and Kandra in Pocatello. It was a fun visit even though Maximus was super hyper and excited the whole time. Maximus LOVES kids and was so happy to be around Brandon and Kandra's kids. Sydnee and Dawson were a little shy around Maximus but Emery just loved Maximus. I couldn't believe how much he loved him and how he just kept walking up to Maximus by himself. Emery was not scared of Max at all, he just had a big smile on his face the whole time. I wish I would have tried and got some pictures of Emery and Max together, but I think I was too occupied in keeping Maximus's excitement at a low that it didn't cross my mind to take pictures. Lots of thanks to Kandra for helping out with Braxton while I held and kept Maximus calm. And thank goodness they have a back porch that we were able to put Maximus in at times while I fed Braxton. It was a fun visit and I'm glad we were able to stop by and catch up. Thanx for having us over and feeding us lunch as well!

So we made it to Shelley Idaho, I hurried and got Max fed and just relaxed the rest of the night. It was nice to just sit around and watch movies with my parents. Here are some pictures I took of Braxton at the house while in Idaho.

We had to have Maximus at the vet around 8AM, so my mom was able to stay at home with Braxton while I hurried off to take Max to the vet. I was so nervous, I hate going to the vet. I am a big animal lover and I hate to see animals hurt so I was super nervous. Even though Jackson was nervous about the surgery as well, I called him up and had him calm my nerves while I drove there, thank goodness Jackson wasn't at work yet. So I got there and got him all checked in. Maximus was of course excited to be there and had no clue what was going on. Maximus is always happy, wherever he goes. So I left him and was told to pick him up later that day after 4PM.

So I went back to the house and after my mom left for work I took Braxton to her work to show him off. After that we went to go visit my friend Ashlee in Idaho Falls.  It was great to see her and have lunch with her at Olive Garden. Thanx for lunch Ashlee, it was yummy and I'm glad we got go hang out and visit! :) After Braxton and I hung out at Ashlee's place for a while we headed back to Shelley. I left Braxton home with my mom while I headed to the vet with my dad to go pick up Maximus. My dad loves Maximus and offered to come with me to go pick him up from the vet. We got there and Maximus wasn't as hyper and excited as he usually is but he was sure happy to see us. I'm so glad my dad came with me because he was able to help lift Maximus into the truck. Well we made it home to my parents house. Max was tired and kept trying to lay down but every time he did it hurt him to lay down so he just walked around the house a lot trying to attempt ways to lay down without it hurting. It was really sad to watch. Max sure was a sad pup that night. We were also told from the vet to watch Maximus really good for the next 3 days to make sure he didn't lick his incision. It was great having my parents there to help out with that because there were times when we had to stop Maximus and I couldn't always do that when feeding Braxton. Jackson texted and called me several times that day to check up on Maximus.

Saturday came and my parents and I watched General conference. After the first session I went to Ashlee's to visit with her again and go with her to her neighbors house to order some vinyl lettering for Braxton's room. Her neighbor does it for business and sold me the phrase I wanted for really cheap. Than I watched the second session of conference with Ashlee and her family. Afterwards, Ashlee and I went to Michael's and found a couple of beautiful picture frames that I can't wait to use and hang up at our house! Than for the rest of the evening my parents and I just hung out and relaxed. My dad of course went to the priesthood session that night at the church, but it was great to just do nothing and hang out. These next couple of pictures are of Braxton in Grandpa's arms with the two of them eventually falling asleep.

This is a picture of Maximus feeling much better Saturday evening, he was outside hanging out while dad cooked burgers.

On Sunday in between sessions, my mom and I took Braxton to go visit Sister Hall in Idaho Falls. Sister Hall is a very close family friend that use to live next door to us when going to grade school. It was great to see Sister Hall and have her meet Braxton. Here are some pictures of Braxton at Sister Hall's house.

Well, Monday morning came and it was time for Braxton, Maximus, and I to head back to Utah. I originally planned to leave on Tuesday but Jackson had Tuesday off from work so I wanted to head back Monday and surprise him. Jackson sure was surprised and had no clue that we were coming home on Monday. Maximus and I went to our front door and rang the doorbell. I of course ducked down in hopes that Jackson wouldn't see me through the peep hole. Jackson sure was excited to see us and was smiling from ear to ear.

Although before we made it home to see Jackson, we stopped in Ogden to see Emily. It was great to hang out with her and visit for a while at Emily's apartment.

Here is a picture that my midwife took of Jackson all dressed in blue at the hospital. I was able to get a copy of it at my last appointment.

The rest of these pictures are pics that were taken since my last post that I thought would be fun to post and share.

I was cooking dinner one evening and Braxton was a little fussy so Jackson picked up this book that was sitting right in front of him and started reading it to Braxton. It was super cute so I snapped a picture!

This is the new stroller Jackson and I got, I was hoping to find a stroller that will snap in the car seat but since the car seat is an older one and was given to us, we weren't able to find one. I'm happy with this one though, Braxton, Maximus, and I try and take a walk everyday! I think the next time we go, we'll walk the route of where a geocache is hidden from the house. :)
