Happy Halloween!
Our day started off with me getting off my graveyard shift from work and taking a little nap while Jackson and Braxton hung around the house. We then went grocery shopping and saw some interesting characters dressed up for Halloween at the store. After getting home, we made homemade pizza and dressed up for the neighborhood trunk-or-treat. It was our first time attending that and I couldn't believe how many trick-or-treaters there were as well as all the trunks full of candy. It was a lot of fun and so much easier than going from door-to-door to trick-or-treat. In fact Jackson and I were thinking that we'd just go do that every year instead of walking from door-to-door ... that is if it is a yearly thing.
We weren't actually even planning on trick-or-treating this year, just because Braxton is still so little, but once we heard of this neighborhood trunk-or-treat, we figured we could attend that. It was nice to just go to the park and walk around the sidewalk and be done with it. We got a ton of candy in just that hour we were there!
Afterwards, we just hung around the house watching "Casper" on the laptop while waiting for trick-or-treaters to stop by our house. We never did get around to carving our pumpkins this year. :( I hope we can do something fun with them before they rot ... not looking too promising though with another kiddo that could come any day now. Either way, Happy Halloween!
At the trunk-or-treat.
Look at all those cars on just one side of this park! Crazy how packed it was!
I took these pics when we got back. Braxton was Elmo and Jackson was a "hog hunter". At least that's what he called himself. I still think we should have done a Sesame Street theme since Braxton likes Sesame Street and liked his Elmo costume. I could have totally pulled off being "Big Bird" with my prego belly and Jackson could have been "Oscar the Grouch". I thought that costume would suit him since he can get a bit cranky at times when I play Christmas music around the house before the month of December. LOL But he didn't want to do that so we just stuck with Braxton as Elmo and Jackson as whatever. I honestly wasn't even expecting him to dress up like he did :)
This was the Halloween craft that my sister Melanie sent Braxton in the mail to do. Braxton loves stickers and what a perfect time/day to pull out the craft. Thanx again Melanie! It was fun to watch him get so creative.
The finished products. His job was to put faces on all of the characters. He wanted to keep using the stickers but had nothing else to stick them too so the ghost got a lot of eyes and other things as you can tell.
Braxton passing out candy, he really enjoyed doing this.
