Well, I have officially turned 30 years old. Crazy to think that I'm 30 but I started my 30th birthday with a bang I think! It was Braxton's very first Tee Ball game of the season on my birthday and my parents surprised me by driving up to help me celebrate my special day!
We got a flyer a while back in Braxton's back pack from preschool stating Tee Ball season would be starting up and that the ages for that were 3 and up. We jumped all over it for getting him signed up, plus we felt the price was right. It really was not that expensive at all for everything we got. His very first Tee Ball game was so exciting for us, trying something new and getting Braxton involved in sports already, what fun that was!
Sitting in the dug out! It was a windy day which made it pretty cold for the kids. The nice thing about having Braxton in an orange sweater underneath his ball shirt is that you can totally see which one he is in all the pictures with his teammates.
His team! :) So cute! They were all three year olds and I think there were 8 kiddos total. Braxton was definitely one of the tallest kids on the team ... and as you can see, it was more parent Tee Ball lol. Just teaching the kids the concept of the game was of course needed for first timers so as you can see, at least one parent for each child was great about helping their own kid with every game.
First time up to bat! We've been practicing at home with a Tee Ball set my sister Emily bought Braxton for his birthday. Thanx Em!
At first base showing Braxton to watch the hitter at home plate. :)
It was cute, Jackson was great about trying to do high fives at every base to tell him good job.
There you have it, Parent Tee Ball! lol :) You can see where Braxton is in this picture by him dressed in orange.
Time to bat one last time. Each team got to bat twice.
I tried to take several pictures of him as he swung, hence why the next few pictures look similar.
Jumping into second! :)
Poppy and Aunt Lou entertaining and keeping Greyson warm! :)
I think for our first game, everyone was so excited to be there that we all decided to do a third inning of batting, but usually we only played two.
"Good Game!" to the other team!
Braxton's favorite part, the after game snack provided by the parents. Each of us parent's took turns bringing a snack.
After his Tee Ball Game, my parent's/Emily watched Braxton and Greyson while Jackson took me to go see "The Jungle Book". It was pretty good. Recreating a Disney film with that many animals is a ton of work I'm sure, so I was impressed.
After the movie, we sang happy birthday. My mom made cheesecake and brought it with her from Idaho all ready to eat! Instead of eating the cake right away, after we sang, my parents took us out for dinner for my birthday and saved the cake for when we got back home. Needless to say, Braxton was quite upset with that idea, he's used to the fact that you sing happy birthday and eat cake lol. In fact when we got back home from eating dinner, Braxton was determined to eat cake and went straight for the fridge for the cake. It was funny.
Pictures of everyone singing to me. Thanks to Emily for the huge balloons and flowers in the background. I was so spoiled! Her plan was to walk out on to the baseball field with the huge balloons to embarrass me, but thank heaven's it was windy that day that she didn't lol. Thanx Em!
Braxton helping pull out the candles, like I said, he was pretty heart broken that we left the cake to sit a bit longer before eating it.
Opening up gifts after getting home and having cake. Jackson's been buying movies with Channing Tatum lately, silly boy. I like him as an actor but he seems to think I want all the movies with him in it. Thanx babe!
Jackson and his parent's got me something that I've always wanted, biking shorts (with padding in the butt!) I never knew such a thing existed until I met Jackson and saw his shorts for the first time. So exciting! I wish I would have gotten a better picture of me smiling with them but I really do love this gift! :)
Thanks to everyone who helped make my birthday so special! And thanks to my parents for driving up that morning to show up just in time for Braxton's game and to surprise me as well, I had no idea they were coming up for the day! Thank you for dinner too! It was yummy! And thanks to Emily for the balloons and gorgeous flowers! And lastly, thanx to Jackson for a date to the movies and those gifts from him and his parents. It truly was a great day! So far, being 30 hasn't been too bad! :)
