Wedding Anniversary!

Happy 1 year anniversary!! We were married June 18, 2010! A whole year has come and gone. It’s pretty crazy to think that a year ago today we got married! It’s been a great year, challenging at times with me being in school full time and Jackson working graveyards at WinCo Foods but we did it! And to top it off, no more school for me! Yay!!
Jackson and I were also able to go to the temple once a week for a whole year! The month before we got married, I was just chit chatting with a friend that has been married for several years with 4 children. She told me how her and her husband has just finished up there first year of going to the temple once a week. She said that their lives have never been the same and have been nothing but better for her husband and their children. So Jackson and I talked about it and decided that we would make it a goal as well to attend the temple once a week since we lived so close to one. We also didn’t have children our first year of marriage which made it easier, but I truly believe that we have been blessed for going to the temple. There were weeks where it was hard but we were able to find the time to go. School was way easier for me and it was nice for the both of us to have that time together once a week. I counted and the total was 53 times! Holy Cow! So ya, we have attended the temple 53 times within our first year of marriage. Whenever we had extra time, we decided to attend different temples. The temples we have gone to are, Twin Falls Idaho, Rexburg Idaho, Boise Idaho, and Salt Lake City UT. We were married in the Logan Utah temple but haven’t been able to go back for a session yet. I’m sure things will change a bit when children come along but it’s been a blessing and we are planning to continue going to the temple as long as we are able to.

We have decided to start our 2nd year of marriage off with a bang! We are going on a trip to Hawaii!! We’ve been planning to go sometime this summer and it has just happened to work out two days after our anniversary. We leave June 20th and come back June 29th. We are way excited! It’s like our first real vacation together and I’m excited for Jackson to go somewhere new that he’s never seen before. My Aunt (my mom’s sister) and Uncle live in Hawaii with their beautiful children and we are so excited to see them and spend time with them! They have been so kind to let us stay with them for the 9 days that we are there. They are just an amazing family and they have been a great example for me in so many ways, so I’m very excited we get to spend that time with them!
Anyhow, that’s the update with us. We are very happy and look forward to our second year of marriage as well as many years to come!
