A day at the zoo! We've already been there this year but for the Spring they were having dinosaur figures placed around the zoo and we wanted to take a chance at seeing those before our pass expired. It was really fun to see all the "life" like dinos. Some even moved and made sound.
Braxton wasn't so sure about the dinosaurs. That's about as close as he would get to them.
They even had a T-Rex to look at! In the end we enjoyed seeing all the dinosaurs, Braxton on the other hand was terrified! Wasn't expecting that but I guess seeing large animals that slightly move and make noises can be quite terrifying to a two year old. So we got our picture and quickly walked by each dinosaur for his sake. Poor kid.
We used our discount and bought lunch.
Can't see it in the picture but that baby elephant was really causing a ruckus with that barrel hanging there. It was fun to watch.
Remember those huge weeds I showed in the last blog post, well here we are taking them out. In fact I was planning on doing all the work myself at taking out the weeds but the weeds had such huge roots and were so far in the ground that I needed my husband's muscles for the job. He was so good about taking the weeds out for me with no complaints. In fact he did all of the work while I watched our boys. Thanx hun!
Look at the size of those weeds!
Braxton enjoyed running to me while I took his picture so I have a ton of pictures of him running at me like that but just decided to stick with one or two of him running. That is his thing now if we are out front and I have my camera. He'll walk to the driveway and start there and run as fast as he can towards me while I take his picture.
Braxton's first look at a water hose.
Jackson showing him how to drink out of it.
Braxton LOVES airplanes! There were a lot of airplanes flying over us that day that I was able to catch a picture of him with an airplane.
Poor Max hanging out inside. We planned on not being outside too long for him to be out there with us.
About a month ago, Emily's job relocated her to work as a Resident Care Coordinator in Provo which in the end meant she had to move due to the long commute it would take for her to get to Provo. It was really hard to have her move out. It was great having her live with us to be there whenever we needed her to watch the boys. It was also fun to have a girls' night once in a while when we both needed it. It's been an adjustment without her and we do miss her but we are glad that things are going well for her since the move. Of course she was always going to move out someday, we just weren't planning on it being so soon.
Anyhow, her previous job threw her a going away party and we were invited to attend. So I went and took pictures for her with all her friends, coworkers and residents. Our boys were a hit at the party.
Braxton looking back as always making sure I was going with them.
Pizza ... can't go wrong with pizza.
Pictures with her and the staff.
The kitchen staff.
Her old boss is the lady next to her.
We decided to take a ride with Emily on the elevator upstairs so she could say good bye to some of the residents she took care of.
Braxton fell asleep on the ride home, so I decided to take some pictures of his hair. As you can see his hair has gotten so long.. I tried to use gel to style it because it doesn't even look good long but I think I just made it worse. I wish he didn't hate getting his hair cut because he needs it cut more often than not. We plan on doing just one more haircut this week so it looks nice for all the family gatherings but than after that, we'll just grow it out for awhile again. It is sooo long!
A day outside. This was definitely taken before it got too hot outside. I wonder if Greyson had allergies or something because I don't remember him crying at the time. Odd.
I think Braxton was starting to get a bit too much sun, look how red his face was. Whoops.
There he is running again towards me.
I'm so grateful for this tree outside to give us shade. Without this tree, we probably wouldn't go out front very often. I wish our backyard had more shade.
My parents were in town to help Emily move out that weekend. It's been a routine lately for my dad to change the burnt out light bulb in our garage every time he comes down so I decided to take a picture of him. Always helping out when he can.
June is the month of our anniversary and we have been married for 5 years now! Wow! It hasn't seemed like 5 years but sure enough it has been. To celebrate our anniversary we figured we'd go back to Logan where we got married and spend the weekend there. This was planned before we knew Emily would be moving out, so we were just lucky that she could still watch the boys for us. She decided to take them on a road trip to Grandma and Grandpa Hawkins' house while we were gone so they could get loved and spoiled. Thanks to Emily, Grandma, and Grandpa for watching them for us. We missed them terribly but were grateful for the time we got to spend with each other that weekend.
Greyson all ready for the drive to Idaho.
Maximus even got to tag along to Idaho.
These were some pictures that my sister Emily took on her phone. It was great that she sent me pictures to let me know how things were going. I missed my boys.
A walker toy they bought Greyson during the Idaho visit.
He loves his brother.
Love this picture, I'm sure glad he could be loved and taken care of while we were gone.
They spent a day at the zoo! My brother's wife was in Idaho getting some things done at their house they are renting out so my sister offered to watch there kids as well that day to help her be able to get more things done. So they had quite the crew at the zoo.
Cousins
Later that evening my mother attempted to cut his hair. It of course became the usually terrified screaming match, in fact my mother said she would never try to cut his hair again. The poor thing. They had to finish what they started and she said it was awful, she felt so sorry for him. Sadly enough, it has grown back since than and we'll be getting it cut again today. :(
The end result...
...much happier now.
This was our hotel room, we stayed at the "Anniversary Inn". We had stayed in this hotel 5 years ago but was in a different room called the "Amazon rainforest" and this time we decided to try out the "Aphrodite's suite". It was a really nice room and was great to have two nights there instead of one so we could just relax and not feel rushed to head home.
TV seen from the jacuzzi and bed!
One of the things we did while in Logan was see "Jurassic World". It was really good, we liked it!
We had breakfast served to us while we were there and this is how it looked. It was yummy.
On our last day we went to the Logan Temple and did a session. This is where we were married. It was crazy to think we were there just 5 years ago.
Went to a Mongolian Grill afterwards for lunch, it was yummy! We miss Mongolian grill since they surprisingly don't have one in the Salt Lake Valley, at least not one that we know of.
That weekend was Father's day, which ended up being the day that our boys came home. Lucky for me, I planned ahead of time and got the boys to help with a gift before our trip.
Braxton's footprint and Greyson's handprint.
Another new beginning that happened this month was a new job for Jackson. After much thought and prayers, we decided to take a leap of faith and have Jackson start a new job with UPS. His job with Garda just wasn't getting him anywhere. It was a great job for the time being but Jackson's been looking into different career options for quite sometime now and after much research we figure UPS would better help our family in the long run. They start there employee's off at part time and a lower wage but sometime down the road, he will be able to better provide for our family and enable me to be home with our boys. We just both keep our eyes toward the light at the end of the tunnel. He's worked there for about two weeks now and it's going well. It's been really weird having Jackson home a lot more but we sure do enjoy having him home. He's been so great to help with the boys and around the house while I work an extra shift here and there.
A picture of Jackson on his last day of work.
After I got off work I decided to take the boys to the park before it got too hot, which ended up not being too long of a stay. It's getting to be 80 degrees by 10 am!
Just some picture taken around the house. Thank goodness for Air Conditioning!
