Shortly after our baby girl arrived, I was discharged from the hospital on Monday than packed up the rest of the stuff minus the big furniture and headed to Idaho on Tuesday. We decided to live in Idaho with my parents while waiting for the house to sell since Jackson needed to start his new job and I was in no condition to stay at home with 3 kids recovering from a c-section. The waiting game for our house to sell was awful. I have patience but only so much of it. Not knowing what was going to happen to our house or even us. Will we be able to sell the house? Where will we live? A new baby, kids to feed, how will we pay for things? We couldn't start looking for a house really until our house in Utah sold. So many unanswered questions, I was depressed and found myself literally crying all the time. Jackson was as helpful as he could be working 7 days with 1 or two days off in between but my mom really stepped it up and did a great job at helping my depression any chance she could. She was beyond helpful, did all the housework, fed my kids, had me take naps whenever she was home. Stayed up late to keep me company with the baby. I don't think I would have survived it all by myself in Utah recovering while trying to sell a house.
Finally after 3 weeks of waiting, hoping, and praying our house sold! We got a call around September 28 with an offer from a cute young couple to buy our home in Utah, what a relief. We both were so excited, it's a step forward. Anyhow the house sold and a week before closing of our house in Utah Jackson and I found a house in Idaho to buy. We put an offer on the house and closed on that house on November 21st. Yay, we found a house! Everything literally fell into place the way it should, truly. God truly has his hand in everything that happened.
Here is a couple of pictures I had to take from our old house in Utah before we left, so I never forget the paint job I did.
Here are some pictures of our new house in Idaho! It's a 5 bedroom, 3 bath and a finished basement, which was a huge plus for us! These pictures are before the paint job I did on it from the for sale page.
This is the new paint job we did. I literally painted everything! Except for I left the fish room, the main bathroom, and I left the spare bedroom downstairs in the basement. Other than that I painted everything! It literally took me 2 straight weeks of constant painting every night. It was awful! But so glad to be done with that.
Painted our main bedroom white from the green it use to be.
The boys room that use to have the farm animals.
The basement living room and upstairs family room, yellow to a light brown.
Baby girl's room, yellow to a light pink.
Hallway painted as well.
Upstairs family room with the brown, my lighting sucks.
After the pain job, we got a big egress window put in the basement.
What it use to be.
Now
Lastly, we put in a new tub in the master bathroom. The tub that was in there had some holes in it. So we put in a jetted tub while we were at it. Probably the nicest part of the house now.
My mom's boss at the district office has a son that does tile work so we had him put in our new tub and tiles.
Before
Taring out the old!
The plumbing company bringing in the new one.
Time for the tiles.
The completed tub!
Oh and about a few months after getting the tub, our pellet stove broke and started stinking up the house, it was a mess. It was an old bad brand so I was told. After calling around we found a guy to put in a new "used" pellet stove. We love our new one. Goes on and off all by itself, it's set to a remote too! It was a "used" stove but practically new.
Oh and than we put in a new electrical panel box outside because our lights were flickering and come to find out the old one that came with the house was a fire hazard! That too cost quite a bit as well. Luckily we had a home warranty to help pay half the cost. We aren't use to all these homeowner repairs, that's probably the only downside to having an older house but we are better off financially now.
After all that, our house has held strong for now (knock on wood!)
