And for our first time going to church together as a family of three, we made it to church at 10:50AM, we did cut it close but we were not late! I was so proud of ourselves! Lets hope we can keep this up, although I get the feeling it won't be very often for the three of us to go to church together since it seems like Jackson works most Sundays, but it was nice for him to have today off on Mother's day. And I do appreciate Jackson and all his hard work for Braxton and I. The two of us will just cherish even more the days we do get him for church.
"Fist pump" (as Jackson would call it) for showing up to church on time ;)
Jackson called for me to quickly come take this picture of Braxton cause he had his arm up in the air all on his very own :)
Church was great, the speakers all gave great talks on mothers. All the women were able to attend relief society while the men took there spot for the day. I was thrilled to go to Relief Society since I don't get to go anymore due to serving in Primary, so it was nice to go and hear the lesson. Poor Jackson had to teach our Primary kids with some guy he didn't know. But I'm sure he did great! The lesson in Relief Society was really good and definitely something I needed to hear. It was about marriage and how to build a stronger relationship as a married couple and how a strong marriage can bring together the family as a whole. It helped me think of some of the things that I needed to improve on in my own marriage. The Relief Society gave us popcorn with chocolate to drizzle on top and a rose with a quote by President Thomas S. Monson tied to it. He said, "Don't save everything for a special occasion, everyday of your life is a special occasion". I really liked that quote and only hope that I can follow it the best I can and make everyday of Jackson and Braxton's life special.
Later on we went home from church and did exactly what I said, absolutely nothing! It was GREAT! :) Jakson made dinner and we just lounged around.
This shirt was given to us at one of the baby showers, Jackson decided to put it on him today after church, Thanx Jackson! We sure do love our baby Braxton!
Since it is mother's day, I just want to wish a Happy Mother's day to all the moms I know whether you are family or friends, I truly appreciate the example you are to me as a mother. Even though I'm new at this mother business, I only hope to be as great as all of you!
And on a personal note, I just wanted to wish my own Mother a Happy Mother's day! She has always been there for us kids and is always willing to do whatever she can to help out. My mom always put our needs before her very own. Thank you mom for the example you have been to me all these years and thank you so much for all the prayers you have said on my behalf during all the hospital visits I have had, through all my struggles in schooling, and just my life in general! I couldn't have been blessed with a better mother than you! Love you Mom!
