Fun filled weekend back home with Santa!

Every year my parents put together a Santa Night for the community. In fact I talked about it last year in my blog so if you want more detail about it, you could click this link: http://www.plottfamily.blogspot.com/2012/12/santa-claus-is-coming-to-town.html
So anyhow, this was there 16th year of doing it and I wanted Braxton to meet the jolly old elf so I told Jackson that I was planning on taking those days off to be able to go. Which isn't too hard for me because I only work 3 days a week. Come to find out, Jackson jumped all over the idea himself and made sure he could get work off those days too so he could go. Which was nice for him to make it work this year because it seems like he always misses out on things due to having to work. So we left Utah on the Friday before so we could spend most of that Saturday with my great friend Ashlee from Idaho Falls. I'm so glad we were able to head out that Friday. There was a big winter storm that Saturday, plus that Sunday and Monday was so busy with getting things ready for the Santa night, I don't know if I would have been able to hang out with her as much as I wanted to. The other bonus of leaving Friday is we got to meet up with my mom and Santa at the Idaho Falls Christmas expo. So after our fun filled weekend, we left Idaho early Tuesday morning since Jackson had to work the next day. It was great fun and I'm glad that we were able to go!

At the Christmas expo waiting in line to meet Santa!

My good friend Ashlee and her kids met up with us at the expo. I loved this picture of her baby girl. So cute haha :) She was born about 6 months before Braxton.

Braxton did so good on Santa's lap! I was so curious about what would happen, he was pretty chill about it and was more interested in holding the candy cane. We'll have to see what happens next year ;)

They also had live Reindeer at the expo! :)

A picture of Braxton hanging out on daddy's shoulders at the expo.

After the expo, we went and hung out with Ashlee for a bit. I snapped this quick picture of Braxton and her baby girl playing.

Later Saturday afternoon Emily showed up for the Santa event.

And finally our Santa night has begun, Santa came! It wasn't as successful as the years past because it was sooooo cold! In fact we've had blizzards in the years past and still had a good turn out of kids. We probably had about 125 kiddos when usually we get about 350-400. But we now know what will keep the kiddos away from seeing Santa, the freezing temperature. It was about 7 degrees but felt like -9! It was really cold. In fact we had to call it an early night about 7:40PM because it was so cold. We were freezing Santa out too! I kind of felt bad that not many kiddos came because of all the work that gets put into it, but we decided to make a facebook page for next year that way if we see in advance that it's going to be that cold, we'll let people know that it will be postponed till the following week. Oh well, it was still fun short visit!

Pictures of Braxton outside in the cold. No worries I had like 3 pairs of pants on him and 3 pairs of shirts. And he was only outside for like 10 minutes to see Santa. He again, did so good. Just sat and smiled at him, I'm a happy mamma!

We had a picture of Maximus last year with Santa, so we had to take the dogs out for a few minutes for a quick picture. They of course couldn't sit on Santa's lap this year like Max did last year. :) They are like little kids, always wanting to be involved. :)

My cousin Peyton feeding Braxton on one of her warming up shifts from the cold.

About 20 minutes after we cleaned up the outside, Peyton and Whitney said they didn't get a picture with Santa! So Emily and I jumped all over it and quickly made the inside look like the outside so they could get a picture with Santa. Luckily we were able to get Santa before he left. It was funny, we took turns holding the green curtain in the background! :)

And of course had to do more picture with Braxton and get a good family picture! :) This was nice and cozy warm inside. Maybe we should do a quick photo shoot inside every year afterwards, haha :)

All the lights outside! If the pictures seem blurry, I'm sorry, I was most likely shivering and shaky because it was so cold!

Braxton is always on the floor laughing with the dogs, so I tried to snap this picture of it. Pictures don't do it justice.

These were taken a few weeks back. I've posted some of these on facebook but thought I'd share it here too. I've always wanted to get a picture of Braxton wrapped up in Christmas lights. Just wish I had the knowledge of photographers to make these look good. And to set up the light the right way. Oh well, still turned out cute I thought.

My favorites! :)
