As most of you know, I'm a holiday worker. I love to work the holidays, not only for the little extra holiday pay, but also to help bring a little extra cheer to those patients that are unfortunate enough to have to spend their holiday in the hospital. At least for now that's how I like to work the holiday but I'm sure once Braxton gets older, that love for working the holidays will disappear or most likely change, but for now I offer to work the holidays. So with that being said, I was scheduled to work the graveyards on the 23, 24, and 25th this year. With Braxton getting older, he doesn't sleep all day like he used to, yes he takes a nap once or twice a day but that's about it. So I try to make my 3 days a week that I work scheduled for every other day. That way Braxton doesn't get neglected and I don't have to worry if I don't get enough sleep the day following my night shift since I have a day in between before I have to work again. Well, once I knew my three days of work were in a row that week of Christmas, I was worried about Braxton and how I would be able to take care of him and get adequate sleep. Luckily for us, Jackson's parents were going to be alone for the holidays due to the fact that we had already celebrated the "Plott Christmas" earlier in November so I thought that maybe it would be a good idea to invite them up for a few days during the week of Christmas. That would help both Jackson and his parents from spending Christmas alone and it would help me out with Braxton and give the Plotts some fun extra Grandma and Grandpa time while Jackson was working and I was sleeping. Jackson agreed with me that it would be a good idea to have his parents come over so he called them up and they said they would come.
So Jackson's parents arrived on Monday the 23rd early evening. Jackson had to work Monday but got home from work soon after their arrival. Lucky for me, I had the opportunity to change my schedule to work the Sunday instead of Monday which let me be home that Monday evening to spend time with Jackson and his parents.

On the road to Chili's for dinner!
Mmmm! It was very yummy! Thank you for dinner Grandma and Grandpa!
Afterwards, we went to go look at some lights around town. We found a huge building that flashed lights with music. It was pretty neat. Braxton missed the lights though because he was very tired and fell asleep in the car on the way there.
Hanging out around the house on Tuesday while Jackson worked.
I didn't have to sleep too much that day because I slept the night before.
We talked about things we could do while Jackson worked and come to find out that Toni and Vern created the hanger with yarn on it! Well maybe not "created" it but they are the reason Jackson has hangers in our closet with yarn on it. I know, it sounds crazy to have yarn on hangers but thats how Jackson's hangers were that he took with him on his mission and I LOVE them! When we first got married, I didn't like those hangers at all because I didn't like the feel of the hanger and in general just thought it was such a weird hanger. I actually hated using them. But within the first year of marriage, my clothes kept falling onto the floor and I kept telling Jackson how much I hated that (especially my v-neck tops) would fall off of the hangers onto the floor. Most of my clothes would fall. Jackson said to use the hangers with the yarn on them to keep the clothes from falling, which Ta Da, it worked! I love those hangers now, in fact I probably use all of the yarn-covered hangers in our closet! It really is a great invention! So thats what we did that day, was make hangers with yarn on them. Toni taught me how to do it, I only made one because of needing to get other things done around the house but I do know how to make them now. Toni on the other hand used up some of my hangers and made me a bunch of them!
Here is a picture of Toni faithfully making hangers with yarn on them, all day long she was at it.
Thanks a bunch! I truly do appreciate it and have already put them all to use!
We also watched "The Smurfs 2" while making hangers. It was a cute movie. Thanx Grandpa Plott for running to Redbox to rent movies for us all to watch! It was more of a lounge around type of day just because I did have to work that night. Jackson came home later on and we all watched another movie, "Planes", Braxton was starting to get tired at this point and was put to bed soon after it started which was kind of a bummer because Braxton really likes airplanes but maybe he'll get another chance to watch it some other time. It was a cute movie though!
Later on that night, relaxing upstairs with a movie and....
...guitar hero! I had to head to work and missed out on most of guitar hero.
The next day was Christmas! Jackson and I had already planned on not really celebrating "Christmas" on Christmas day this year because I'd be working and we had decided to celebrate it later on that weekend. This also worked out okay with his parent's because, as I previously mentioned, we had already celebrated Christmas back in November with all the Plotts. We did however get to see a movie on Christmas! After I got some sleep, we went to go see the movie "Frozen". Jackson and I had seen it previously and loved it so much that we insisted on having his parents see it. It really is such a good show, highly recommended.
Sitting out in the lobby waiting to go into the movie theater.
I knew Braxton would be hungry so we brought lunch for him.
Waiting for the show to start.
I had to head to work right after the movie but I did hear that Jackson and his parents also watched "Man of Steel" that night. Lucky for me, I've already seen it so I wasn't missing out too much on what they were doing back home. It is a good movie though, I'm glad they could see it.
The next day we just lounged around the house for the most part because I was pretty tired from the night before.
Braxton waking up from his nap that next day.
Focusing the camera, Jackson showing off his tired side of himself.
Picture time! That's my tired look from working two days in a row.
Thursday afternoon Jackson's parents had to head home due to Vern having to work on Friday at the bike shop. Thank you both so much for coming down on such short notice. It was great to see you and I appreciate the big help you were with Braxton while I had to sleep and work. I'm glad Jackson had someone to keep him company as well. I was feeling bad that he had Christmas off but no one to really hang out with while I slept. Sorry I was such a zombie that week and that we couldn't do more because of it. Hopefully I'll be more awake the next time you come and visit. Thanx again for everything!
