Our lil man turned 15 months! Time is just flying by now, I remember thinking how bored and slow the time was going with him as a newborn, now not so much. I was looking back at some pictures of him as a baby and it made me sad, I miss my little 8 month old. He was such a cute little baby! He's not much of a baby anymore!
His 15 month old doctors appt was on,

We decided to go with a new doctor for him and we'll probably stick with him. His name is Dr. Buchanan and I was really impressed with him. He was very thurough and talked with us, asked us questions, answered questions, Jackson and I where both impressed. Braxton did really great with him as well. Infact the doctor said that most kids his age are usually shy and scared of the doctor, and want to stay in mommy's arms the whole time but Braxton was taking books to the doctor and talking to him in his cute little mumbling way. When the doctor started listening to his heart and lungs he started talking some more to him and wanted to grab anything that was hanging off of the doctor like his pen or stethascope etc. The doctor said he's right on track with where he should be and that everything looked great. No ear infection once again, yeah!
Dr. DeLaO on the left, his pediatrician for his first year.
Dr. Buchanan on the right, his new pediatrician he'll go to now.
An update since what I wrote in his last blog post. We were trying the no binky and bottle trial last age update. Well it's been a success, he hardly threw a fuss about it too. We were done with those within a few days of not giving them to him. In fact, we just quit cold turkey and he did fine. He now walks instead of crawls and actually runs around the house quite a bit.
He now does little bits of sign language here and there. It was so fun to see him start signing! My baby is talking to me! I wish I would have taught him more and did more sign language myself but oh well, the little bit he does know is still exciting. He loves to sign the word "eat" and knows that word quite well. Other words he likes to sign is "Brush teeth", "more", "finished", "milk", "tired". I can't think of any others right now but I think he knows quite a bit, or at least knows what I'm saying when I sign to him and it is so fun to watch him sign! Infact sometimes he'll sign some type of word and I don't even know what he is saying. I guess I need to start paying better attention to the "signing time" show he likes to watch.
He loves milk! He probably loves milk more than water. I try not to give him too much but he'd drink 3-5 glasses of milk a day if I'd let him. He definitely gets that trait from his daddy. When I show him his flash cards of words he'll do what the word says on the card before I even read it to him. Like "arms up" and "clap", or "touch head", etc, he'll do the action of the word on his own. It's just fun to see all the new things he is doing. He loves it when I sing him the alphabet song and sign the letters of the alphabet to him at the same time. In fact when Jackson starts singing the alphabet to him, Braxton will raise up his own hand and try to move his fingers around like mommy to sign the letters himself while Jackson sings it. The first time Braxton did that, Jackson looked at me in question on what Braxton was doing. I told Jackson he needed to learn the alphabet too! Braxton stares at my fingers so intensely everytime I do it. It makes me curious if he will actually be able to sign it someday.
He of course loves reading as I've said before. I didn't mention that in his 12 month appt surprisingly, but he does. We have now put a bookshelf in the living room so that way he has easier access to the books. In fact the baby sitter that I have come over once a week for two hours says she has never seen him even touch the toys that he'll just head over to the books before or after breakfast and grab a book for her to read to him or he'll start to read it to himself and mumble. She found that quite odd for him to not play with the toys. I told her that he'll play with the toys if its a new toy or if she started to play with a toy with him. But for the most part, Braxton would rather look at books. I need to start rotating the toys out so that way they don't get old to him. But in fact, he loves books so much that we have to hide the library books that we get for him from the library just because I get the fun flap up books and he's ripped one before so we have to hide them now. We usually left his bedroom door open so he could go in and out of it but one day, I found him on top of the diaper changing table looking at a library book that I put up there! It scared me half to death! He climbed on top of the rocking chair, stepped on to the diaper pale as a footstool to get himself onto the diaper changing table in his room just to get to the library books that I had sitting on the changing table! The little stinker! Those library books are considered to be his special ones that he only gets to read with mommy and daddy, usually at nap time or bedtime. I guess he will watch or see where I usually put them and he'll try and find a way to get to them himself.
He loves the movie "Frozen". It's actually more fun to watch Braxton watch the show and see the way he reacts to the movie when we put it on. He'll smile at certain spots, start dancing, or laugh at the craziest moments in the show. Way fun! He also likes his "Your baby can read" shows. He loves to go outside and go to the park. In fact I look forward to the day when that park across the street gets built so I don't have to drive him to one anymore. It's suppose to be done by the end of summer but I haven't even seen the city start on it yet. Hopefully they start it soon though. He loves Maximus, I don't know who was more excited to see each other when we got home from California, Braxton or Maximus. Braxton loves to just go and sit on him and Maximus is so good about it.
My goodness, so much info for people to read, I understand if you don't read it all. It's more for my journal keeping anyway, it will be fun to look back and read all this someday.
Braxton looking through books one day. And no, I didn't lay out those books like that for a cuter picture. That is seriously how he put the books himself. I just happened to be lucky enough to catch a picture of him with the books like that.
Braxton's new haircut this last month. Not the best, but I need to learn to cut it myself to save us a monthly visit to the salon. He actually sat the whole time and didn't even cry. We had a show on for him, but he was totally fine with getting his haircut. This made him look sooo grown up! Our happy, easy going, on the move baby boy!
