The 4th of July

My sister Melanie and her family came down through Utah to go to Colorado to see her sister in-laws family. Lucky for us, the drive from Washington to Colorado is quite the drive and we where their pit stop for the night on their way there. They didn't get to our house till about 10ish so it was indeed a quick stop but it was still fun to have them for the night. I had their beds all ready and blown up waiting for them so when they got there we could hang out for a little bit and chit chat. The girls had fun with some of Braxton's toys for the little time they where there.

After getting some sleep, Melanie and the kiddos woke up to a birthday surprise of some gooey chocolate cake! One of Melanie's favorites I guess. I didn't know she's ever had it, I just knew she liked chocolate and I thought that type of cake would be perfect for her. Later on that early morning after having cake and repacking some things in the car, Melanie left with her family to Colorado.

Melanie making a wish and blowing out her birthday candles.

Braxton enjoyed a little piece of the cake as well.

While Melanie was packing up the car, Braxton's cousin read to him some books.

A week later after Melanie's pit stop, came the 4th of July. Jackson and I found out that my sister Melanie and her kiddos would be making their pit stop from Colorado to Washington in Idaho for the 4th of July fireworks. Once we found out that they would be there for the 4th, Jackson and I made our schedules work to go to the 4th of July as well so we could see my sister one more time for the year. Another fun bonus added to the short trip, was some time well spent with my good friend Ashlee and her family on Saturday. We got to be apart of her son's baptism, which I'm so glad we where able to be there as well for that. It was a great trip and great to see our friends and family once again.

So it was the evening of the 4th and Jackson and I, along with my BYU-Idaho cousins from California decided to go walk around the greenbelt for a bit. We also met up with one of Jackson's old friends from Twin Falls. It was great to see them, I didn't think to take a picture at the time. :(

Waiting at the bridge for Jackson's friend.

While we were sitting at our spot for the fireworks, the cutest puppy showed up with there owners. Braxton and I had to go say hi! She was super cute and only 6 weeks old I think. Braxton loved her.

Just sitting around waiting for the fireworks to start. Emily feeding Braxton some applesauce.

I posted this to show all of the people that where there as well. Thats not even half of all the people that where there! Largest firework show west of the Mississippi!

Just chilling waiting for it to get dark.

It's getting darker! Time to break out the glow in the dark bracelets and necklaces.

Maximus even got to wear a glow in the dark necklace too! Jackson really was happy to have Maximus there with us this time since I didn't let him take the Max last year. And honestly, Maximus did really well, really never got scared. It's been said that fireworks freak out dogs. Jackson truly was a happier person having his pal with him.

I didn't think to get a picture of the three of us until it was too dark to do so. Oh well.

I kind of liked this picture. Some of the fireworks where so bright that it lit up the people sitting in front of me. The twins are the two heads closest in front of me in this picture.

Our day spent with Ashlee, I was horrible at taking pictures that day :( I did although get this picture of Ashlee playing with Braxton.

Sitting around watching a movie Saturday evening waiting for it to get dark before we lit off our own fireworks that we all pitched in and bought.

Time to light of the daylight fireworks. Showing of our 4th of July hats!

Colorful smoke bombs!

Jackson helping Braxton with the poppers you throw at the ground.

This is the best one I could get of us in the dark. This firework was bright enough to light us up a little bit.

I just love my mom's new pictures she has on her computer desk that I wanted to take a picture of it. She got new pictures of us with newer picture frames and all. I think us kids look pretty good on her computer desk. :) Silly I know.

It was a great 4th of July and was great to see my sister and family again. :)
