Shelley Idaho football all the way in Manti Utah! Once I heard that there was going to be a game in Utah I jumped all over that as a reason for my parents to come up for a visit. My parents, probably more so my dad, like going to the Shelley High School football games. The Shelley football team is a pretty good team, they have won several state championship games including last year. In fact they have won every game last year in 2012 and so far every game in 2013 until this Manti game haha. My parents drove up a couple hours before the game, picked me up in West Jordan and took me to the game with them. We got there and could see that there was a high possibility of rain. As we are walking to the bleachers to sit, a sudden down pour of rain just poured on us! Luckily my parents had umbrella's so as we are frantically opening up the umbrellas we hurry to get under them and head back to the van to sit. The van was nice and warm and I brought extra clothes for Braxton. My parents and I were of course soaked despite having umbrella's because it did take a few minutes of the down pour to get them out. Braxton hardly got wet since I had him wrapped in a blanket under the umbrella. As we are sitting in the van waiting for the rain to slow down, we fed Braxton his dinner and tried to dry off with the heaters on. The officials saw lightning at the time of the down pour and delayed the game for 30 minutes along with the rain. Luckily my parent's van plays movies so we just sat in the van and hung out in the heated vehicle with a movie on. The officials than saw another lightning bolt on top of all the rain still coming down and delayed the game for another 30 minutes. My dad brought 3 ponchos and went ahead and put his on so he could walk around and find out what was going on as far as when the game was going to start etc. He looked quite funny in his poncho, wish I would have gotten a picture, luv ya dad! Finally after an hour and a half of waiting they started the game. My mom and I of course missed the first half because it was still raining and by the time we decided to face the rain and get ready for it all dressed in our poncho's it was half time. It really was so fun even though we all looked so funny dressed in ponchos. Braxton is such a good baby, he never cried, just showed his constant smile during all of our stupidity of this game. Wish I would have gotten more pictures of the actual game or my parents but better to have some pics rather than none! Thanx mom and dad for coming to the game, it was way fun despite all the rain! And yes, Shelley did lose to Manti that night, first loss for them in quite some time.
We saw the Manti temple!
On our way home, still happy as can be!
