Emily works at a Senior Assisted Living Center near Ogden as a CNA. She loves her job and is constantly showing her co-workers and the residents that live there pictures of her nieces and nephews. So she called me up one day to tell me about a day at the end of the month where they allow friends and family to come trick or treat for an hour. So I thought, sure, sounds like fun. Luckily working graveyards leave me the luxury of having my days pretty open. Well about a week before the trick or treat shindig at her work, Emily called up my parents and asked if they would come down and help her at the trick or treat shindig at her work to help get things set up and to help her clean out and organize her room at her apartment. My parents were able to make it work with there schedule to come down for the day. They left really early that Saturday morning to get to her work in time for the trick or treating and headed back home that evening after helping Emily out with her room. So what an unexpected surprise! It was fun to spend the day in Ogden with Emily and my parents. Emily truly loves Braxton and you can see it anytime she's with him. She loves showing him off and loved taking him trick or treating at her work. It was a fun day! Thanx for inviting us to go trick or treating at your work Em, it was way fun! Jackson appreciates all the candy as well ;)
Emily as Pebbles!
All the residents handing out candy where Emily works, he got a lot of candy! The residents loved him! He was super cute and would just smile at all of them! We might make a tradition of going to Emily's work every year if they can keep doing it or if we can make it happen ourselves.
Look at that huge spider in the background, bet you can't guess who made that?! ;) Nice Job Em, I think she's made about 5 spiders this year.
After trick or treating we headed back to Emily's to hang out. My dad and I relaxed on the couches watching "Real Steel" while Emily and my mom worked on her bedroom. Before I left to head back to West Jordan I had my mom trim just a few spots of Braxton's hair to help make it shorter. His hair has been getting so long to wear I could start making minnie pony tails out of it, plus it kept getting into his eyes. It wasn't a major haircut just a little trim here and there of all his really long baby hair he has had since birth. It was really hard for me to get it cut but it needed to be done. I kept the cut pieces in a baggy, it was quite sad to see it go! My baby is growing up! :( Chances are he'll have hair like his mommy and daddy's and it will just grow back super quick! He was a pretty good sport the whole time.
We left Ogden around 4:30 so we could get back in time for our ward halloween party. Jackson and I contemplated on dressing up, I wish we would have but oh well, we decided not to. Jackson just kept telling people that he dressed up as Tony Stark tonight instead of Iron Man, which was great for him, but what about for me?? Thor isn't anybody else during the day, he's just Thor. Oh well, some people did have a hard time telling what Braxton was without his Avenger Crew but people were quick to figure it out. The Ward Halloween party was fun and I'm glad Jackson and I could go!
The kids below are my friends kids from the ward. She babysits Braxton sometimes in the morning when Jackson has to be to work before I get home. I appreciate her friendship a whole lot and her willingness to help me out and watch Braxton. Sometimes Jackson doesn't get off work till 7PM and she offers to watch him last minute for me when I have to head to work. He is a good baby and all but for her being able to work around her schedule of getting kids to school or preschool herself, I truly appreciate it! Thank you!! Thats one of the positives about having to work, I've made some new friends from having Braxton have a babysitter once or twice a week. And to be honest, working graveyards are the way to go if I have to work. Just the other night I was talking to one of my patients that just had a baby and she was asking me who I used for daycare since I worked full time and I had the luxury of saying I don't need one since I work nights. What a true blessing for Jackson and I to only need a sitter 2-3 days a week for about 2 hours.
Minions!! Which I think were a hit! And there's Santa on the left!
Time to go trunk or treating! We just followed around my friend from the ward. It was way fun!
What a great fun busy month of October! I am so happy to say, I AM ALL CAUGHT UP with posts!! Phew!! That was a lot of work! Hopefully I don't get behind again. Unfortunately, I am only caught up until this weekend. We already have lots of plans happening for the month of November! It's amazing how busy your life can get once you have a baby! Our life was never this exciting without you Braxton, we love you!! And Happy Halloween everyone! Bring on November! :)

Aww, all those sweet little residents. Sitting in their wheel chairs waiting for kids. How cute and sweet!!! I wish I could have brought my girls. How fun.
